Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo is launching another NFT collection despite ongoing legal challenges. Regulators accused him of promoting unregistered securities and misleading investors through Binance.

Ronaldo’s 4th NFT Collection

Cristiano Ronaldo has announced the launch of his fourth NFT collection in partnership with Binance. The collection will debut on May 29 on the Binance NFT Marketplace to commemorate significant moments from Ronaldo’s illustrious football career.

Ronaldo shared in a blog post:

“My football journey has taken me around the world, and I’ve had the honour of playing for some of the most prestigious clubs. Now, it’s your turn to join me on that journey, too.”

Although the total number of NFTs is not yet disclosed, the post confirmed that all “Normal NFTs” will have a standard price, while prices for “Super Rare” and “Super Super Rare” NFTs will vary.

Ronaldo’s Legal Troubles

Following the conviction of Binance and its founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, a lawsuit was filed against Ronaldo, accusing him of promoting unregistered securities and misleading investors.

Plaintiffs allege that Binance used Ronaldo’s vast influence to attract new users, including unsuspecting investors, into purchasing unregistered securities. They claim Ronaldo’s 850 million social media followers were key in boosting Binance’s profile, evidenced by a 500% surge in “Binance” search volumes following Ronaldo’s initial NFT launch.

The lawsuit is developing, and plaintiffs are resorting to unconventional methods to serve Ronaldo, including social media messages and emails to his litigation counsel, due to the elusive nature of his residence.
