XRP Ledger to Host World Expo 2025 NFTs: Details

Expo 2025, one of the most anticipated events in the world, which is set to be held in April-October 2025 in Osaka, Japan, will issue its official non-fungible tokens on $XRP Ledger. The expo's official wallet will also be supported by Ripple's major Asian partner.

XRPL becomes official Expo 2025 Osaka $NFT platform

The upcoming global exhibition Expo 2025 in Osaka will release its official non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the top of $XRP Ledger. A hotly anticipated $NFT collection called "Myakuun" will be minted for the millions of Expo 2025 visitors from all over the globe, Ripple's VP Emi Yoshikawa shared on her X account.

Technically, the new $NFT release is a joint project by SBI VC Trade and SBI $NFT, two units of Asian digital economy major SBI Holdings. The tokens will be unveiled in May 2024, a year before the grand opening ceremony of Expo 2025 in Osaka.

It is estimated that NFTs will be unlocked for over 28.2 millions of guests expected to visit the event in Japan. "Myakuun" NFTs will be seamlessly integrated into the activities and programs of the exhibition.

Namely, attendees will be able to claim NFTs for visiting the particular venues at Expo 2025 and for completing missions announced by its partners.

Ripple's VP Emi Yoshikawa is enthusiastic about the prospects of the novel $NFT collection and the experiences it will open to Expo 2025 participants:

SBI Holdings has been selected to issue official Expo NFTs (called “Myakuun!”) and will be using the $XRP Ledger for the $NFT issuance. I’m so excited that this will give millions of visitors from all over the world an opportunity to experience XRPL!

As covered by U.Today previously, $XRP Ledger has become one of the fastest-growing platforms for NFTs. In Q3, 2023, its $NFT ecosystem printed double-digit growth.

SBI Holdings supports Expo 2025 digital assets wallet

The special limited edition drop of the Myaku Myaku $NFT will be presented to all visitors of the offline opening ceremony, Yahoo Japan says.

Also, long-term Ripple ally SBI Holdings will sponsor the development and release of the exhibition's official cryptocurrency wallet. Not unlike NFTs, it will be integrated into the event's program.

So far, there are over 3,300 $NFT collections on $XRP Ledger. In total, its enthusiasts issued more than two million NFTs, per XPMarket data.
