Hermès has become the latest luxury brand to declare interest in crypto offerings.
Paris-based luxury brand Hermès has recently filed a trademark application that will enable its expansion into the cryptocurrency sector. The company made the application on August 26, 2022.
Through the trademark application, Hermès claims that it wants to expand its services from offering luxury goods to non-fungible tokens (NFTs), cryptocurrency and NFT trading, virtual clothing and footwear, issuance and validation of digital certificates, etc.
The development was disclosed on Twitter today by Mike Kondoudis; a USPTO licensed trademark attorney, He said:
“Luxury brand Hermès has filed a trademark application for its name, claiming plans to expand into NFTs + Virtual currency, Crypto + NFT trading, Virtual good marketplaces, Virtual clothing, footwear, and fashion shows, etc.”
Founded in 1837, Hermès is a French luxury company that deals in leather goods, watches, jewelry, and ready-to-wear clothes and shoes.
