AFL Released "Ripper Skipper 2022"
The football league released "Ripper Skipper 2022" on August 17 through its AFL Mint program, enabling participants to buy one of the 3,800 packs set aside for the drop. Each pack costs 34.39 USDC at retail, and the effort is anticipated to raise more than $130,000 in USDC. The Ripper Skipper 2022 NFTs use audio and video to present 78 noteworthy events and highlights from the 2021 Season. Three "moments" in three separate rarity tiers - standard, deluxe, and ovation - are included in each bundle. A 10% chance of receiving an AFL Mint Genesis Ball is offered to anybody who took part in the initial drop of limited edition digital material. The general public will be able to purchase another drop on August 24 after the initial mint runs out in a matter of hours.
Plans For The Metaverse
AFL Mint has plans to build on the idea and offer game day events, tickets, and the ability to meet players in the Metaverse. NFTs are digital certificates stored on the blockchain that prove ownership of a digital or physical item, frequently an artwork. According to Kylie Rogers, Executive General Manager of Customer and Commercial at the AFL, they seek to improve fan experiences through technology.
"Through our AFL Mint brand, we will launch exciting new moments across our Men's and Women's competitions, plus celebrate past greats and other product releases that will bring a unique fan experience we haven't seen before."
The Australian Football League revealed a five-year relationship with Be Media, a Perth-based subsidiary of Hong Kong NFT gaming giant Animoca Brands, in April when they unveiled its NFT marketplace, AFL Mint.
