During the launch period, MEXC is waiving all platform trading fees. Zero. For a platform with a user base exceeding 40 million, that’s a significant incentive to get people experimenting with equities for the first time.
The product went through a beta testing phase that kicked off on May 26. That beta attracted over 20,000 users before the full rollout.
Why a crypto exchange wants to sell you Apple stock
Tens of millions of crypto-native users around the world face genuine friction when trying to access US equity markets: currency conversion, brokerage account requirements, regulatory hurdles depending on jurisdiction, and the general awkwardness of toggling between two entirely separate financial ecosystems.
MEXC CEO Vugar Usi framed the launch under an initiative called “Infinite Opportunities,” positioning RealStocks as a bridge between crypto users and the equity market. Usi described the product as part of an effort to integrate crypto users into the equity market landscape ahead of what the exchange expects to be a busy year for public offerings in 2026.
MEXC is running launch incentives that include a SpaceX(PRE) airdrop and a $1 million stock prize pool tied to trading activity.
The competitive landscape and what investors should watch
MEXC isn’t the first crypto platform to flirt with equities. FTX offered tokenized stocks before its spectacular implosion. Binance briefly listed stock tokens in 2021 before pulling them amid regulatory pressure. The difference this time is the structure: MEXC is providing broker-mediated access to real shares rather than creating derivative tokens.
Users are trusting a crypto exchange to custody their equity positions through a broker intermediary. Smart users will want to understand the custody chain before parking significant capital in stocks held through a platform primarily known for trading digital assets.
