On March 13, Elon MUSK spoke with visitors at the Berlin-Brandenburg Gigafactory, an electric car manufacturing plant that opened in the spring of 2022. One of the event visitors asked Musk if it would be possible to buy a Tesla with Dogecoin in the near future. Musk responded positively to the request, saying that it should be implemented at some point. Musk’s reaction sparked enthusiasm among investors and the market price of the token rose sharply. Dogecoin reacted with a jump from $0.172 to $0.188 at the time of writing with an increase of 9.3%.

Starting in 2022, Tesla accepts DOGE as payment for its merchandise. Musk first began supporting DOGE after several Tesla gigafactory employees urged the CEO to support Dogecoin as an official payment method. Visitors to SpaceX approached him with a similar request asking for support for Dogecoin. According to Musk, Doge is the people’s cryptocurrency, so he will support it. According to Musk, Bitcoin has the support of many wealthy people, and he would like to support the cryptocurrency that the general public prefers.

The recent creation of the XPayments account on Elon Musk’s social network X (formerly Twitter) is fueling speculation in the crypto community about whether cryptocurrencies will be introduced. App X is expected to have in-app payment services by mid-2024. However, it has not been confirmed whether this feature will support payments beyond traditional fiat currencies.
