Theatre chain giant AMC Theatres is giving away 86,000 free limited-edition NFTs to members of AMC Stubs Premiere & A-List and AMC Investor Connect for purchasing advance tickets of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” on Dec. 19.
AMC Theatres Giving Away 86,000 Spider-Man NFTs
For the first time ever, AMC Entertainment is handing out exclusive Spider-Man™ NFT for the members of its AMC Stubs Premiere, AMC Stubs A-List, and AMC Investor Connect who purchased in advance their opening-day ticket to SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME. The advance tickets will go on sale on November 29 with the movie opening exclusively in cinemas on December 16.
A total of 86,000 NFTs will be handed out as part of the promotional campaign where pre-order buyers will get their freebies until supplies last. The total production of the limited NFTs is expected for an overall quantity of 90,000 where over 100 NFT designs will be available, specially designed by animation studio Cub Studios.
Commenting on the offer, Adam Aron, CEO of AMC, said:
“Our AMC Theatres guests and our AMC Entertainment shareholders have been calling for AMC to get into the world of NFTs, and we couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to start doing so than with our good friends at Sony Pictures.”
Customers who qualify for the NFT will be sent instructions via email on December 22 on how to redeem it where the token must be redeemed by March 1, 2022, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.
Spiderman-Man NFTs Will be Eco-friendly
The Spider-Man NFT will be available to be redeemed at a dedicated site operated by WAX which claims to be an ‘ultra-low carbon footprint blockchain’ certified as the first carbon-neutral blockchain. In fact, toymaker, Funko Pop, even mint its own NFTs to the same blockchain platform.
Besides being eco-friendly, WAX is the most utilized blockchain around the world with a whopping 15 million transactions per day.
