Sony Pictures and AMC Theatres are collaborating to present an exclusive Spider-Man NFT to AMC Theatres Stubs Premiere & A List and AMC Investor Connect members in anticipation of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The NFT, which will be released by means of the WAX blockchain, will be given to members who purchase or reserve an opening day advance ticket. The artwork was designed by BAFTA and Lovie award-winning studio Cub Studios and will be limited to 86,000 NFTs only.

Redeem a code through a special website and you’ll get one of 100 designs available through the more eco-friendly Wax blockchain.

You’ll need to order your tickets through the AMC Theatres website or mobile app when pre-orders launch on November 29th. If you qualify, you’ll get your code on December 22nd and will have until March 1st, 2022 to claim the NFT.

The firm said that the NFT promotion is being held jointly by Sony Pictures and AMC Entertainment and marks the first time that this has ever been done by a major ‘theatrical exhibitor’. Those who successfully get one of the limited NFTs will be sent instructions via email on December 22 on how to redeem it. It said the NFTs must be redeemed by March 1, 2022, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.

Commenting on the offer, Adam Aron, Chairman of the Board and CEO of AMC, said:

“Our AMC Theatres guests and our AMC Entertainment shareholders have been calling for AMC to get into the world of NFTs, and we couldn’t imagine a more perfect way to start doing so than with our good friends at Sony Pictures. This is especially the case in that SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME is one of if not the most anticipated movie of 2021, and the incredibly talented artists at Cub Studios are creating more than 100 unique NFTs giving appropriate respect to this most recent incarnation of the timeless and ever so popular Spider-Man franchise.”
