Recent hacker targets in UK: DSX and Mercatox
DSX, a cryptocurrency exchange based in the United Kingdom, has become a new target of hackers, as reported by the social media management team of this organization on Twitter. While the first messages on this have appeared on Thursday last week, more progress reports on the topic keep appearing at the press time. Two latest messages tell about the restoration of the proper work of the exchange services:
We are continuing to improve services and reinstate the infrastructure. ePayments customers can process cryptocurrency exchange operations. We're now preparing for the reintroduction of secure deposits and withdrawals of all currencies on the DSX platform. 1/2

We would like to thank all our customers for their support and understanding. Once we are back to being fully operational we will make further statements as to the incident and the steps we have taken. 2/2

In the previous messages the exchange has listed the emergent measures, and one of the most notable is the reset of all user passwords. Overall, the exchange seems to have responded to the threat relatively quickly.
Meanwhile, Mercatox, another digital currency exchange which is also based in the United Kingdom, has recently experienced a DDoS attack. This means that someone has deliberately tried to overload its website with a big number of requests, which is a popular way to immobilize websites.
Unlike the organization mentioned above, the exchange did not tell very much about the exact countermeasures it was using, but assured that the work is being done to solve the problem. At the press time, the main page of the website already works after checking the user computer with the popular anti-DDoS attack measure by Cloudflare.
