Not a scam: SaveDroid did fool everyone, but in a slightly better way

19 April 2018 21:00, UTC

Yesterday, the news on the abrupt closure of SaveDroid and disappearance of its ICO founders has been one of the main criminal-related topics, and Bitnewstoday has described the strange tactics of atypically arrogant fraudsters:

“While the criminals may gloat right now, their behaviour may infuriate more victims who will persuade the law enforcement to search for them more actively and accelerate efforts. Another obvious big mistake was to show the face of the founder - with current face recognition technologies, this can greatly help the police.”

Turns out it was Bitnewstoday who has made a big mistake yesterday. And so did many other media outlets who believed the prank made by SaveDroid to show everybody that such a thing could happen to any ICO and nothing can actually insure investors from risks these days.

If SaveDroid thought it would make actual investors and market observers to have a good laugh, they were wrong: at the press time, the video has 794 dislikes with only 324 likes and the comment section is filled with negative opinions. Some people even speculated that the management changed its mind at the last minute once it realized it’s not going to be hard to find them all, although this seems unlikely.
