IBM and Global Citizen open a contest for the best humanitarian aid blockchain
Two major organizations - IBM and Global Citizen - are trying to involve independent talents to establish a new humanitarian aid donation system based around blockchain technologies. This has been confirmed by the official blog of IBM on Friday last week. The contest for 5 best tech proposals starts tomorrow 15 May and ends 14 July 2018.
The notable feature of current charity programs is, sadly, that many of them are scams or possess certain scam features, which is likely why IBM and the anti-poverty movement are now trying to introduce blockchain in this sphere. The winners will get a pair of VIP tickets for a Global Citizen event and, of course, a new serious achievement to mention in the resume.
Blockchain has been seriously reviewed as a supply chain tracking system by most key corporations during the second half of the last year, and now another application of this system is becoming mainstream: humanitarian purposes. In other notable example, the WFP and a Jordan firm have helped refugees lacking passports and credit cards to buy food via retinal clearance system.
