Akon Spoke In Detail About The “Crypto City” In Senegal

Senegalese singer Akon has released a detailed plan for his $6 bln futuristic cryptocurrency city, Akon City. The city will be divided into seven main districts: African culture village district, offices and residential district, entertainment district, health and safety district, education district, technology district, and the Senewood district.

The futuristic crypto city will be located in the Cadastral de Mbodiene park. Akon said construction should begin early next year, adding that only the first phase of the project could take more than three years. He previously stated that the first phase of Akon City will be completed by 2023, and the entire city, powered by the akoin cryptocurrency, will be completed as planned in 2029.

Akon also expressed the hope that his Akon City project will provide the necessary jobs for people in Senegal and serve as a home for Black Americans and others facing racial injustice.
