Casino Jackpots

Casinos all over the world are locked in a constant battle regarding who has the largest jackpot offering, it seems to be quite the thing in the industry to offer the highest amount. This is certainly done to attract more players by enticing them with life changing amounts of money. Here we will take a look at some of the biggest jackpots to ever have been won.

Megabucks Jackpot Winner

One of the most amazing wins in casino history certainly has to be that of Elmer Sherwin. This incredibly lucky individual has to take the cake for best story. On a trip to Las Vegas in the summer of 1989 he decided to visit the Mirage, little did he know that this was to be one of the two luckiest nights of his life. He was able to win the jackpot of $4.6 million on the Megabucks machine, an enormous amount in those days.

A good decade later Mr. Sherwin was once again drawn to the Megabucks slot machine and once again the guy managed to win the jackpot, which at the time was a little more than $21 million. Who would think lightning could strike the same machine twice?

In the year 2000, there was a waitress by the name of Cynthia Brennan was visiting the infamous Las Vegas strip when lo and behold she decided to take a chance on, you guessed it, the Megabucks machine. The hard working girl landed the progressive jackpot and walked away with a life changing amount of just under $35 million. Unfortunately soon after winning Cynthia was involved in a horrific car accident and lost the use of her legs. At least she had all the money she could ever need for doctors bills though.

It certainly seems that anyone who wants to win the jackpot better get on the next flight to Vegas, as once again yet another jackpot winner did it on the strip. This time a software engineer who asked to remain anonymous managed to scoop a jackpot of over $39 million; this is still the largest recorded win on a slot machine in history. The 25 year old engineer was playing the Lady Fortune slot machine at the Excalibur, just incase you were wondering.

Jackpots are what all casino frequenters dream of and these stories only make the dream seem more attainable, so get out there, have fun and remember the names of these machines that seem to be jackpot havens.
