"From 0 to crypto, in less than 60 seconds" is the initial promise of the newest Opera browser, launched today in three Nordic countries through a partnership of the company with several payment processors.
The company released a video explaining how the top-up function works, a special feature which will only be offered now in certain countries but that might expand later if other partnerships are established elsewhere:
One of the most interesting features is that the new Opera wallet-integrated browser does not require users to create new accounts, thanks to a built-in ID verification and payment system.
The payment processors will differ in the three countries, as Swedish users will be able to by crypto through Swish, meanwhile VISA and Mastercard will provide the same service in Norway and Denmark, according to Opera’s release.
Charles Hamel, Opera's product and crypto lead, reflected on the benefits that the new feature can bring for cryptocurrency adoption, as it makes it easier to buy and use tokens with it.
The Opera wallet was announced on December last year, as Chepicap reported. Ethereum tokens are supported, plus also those following the ERC-20 and ERC-721 standards, such as CryptoKitties and many decentralized apps.
