Vitalik Buterin Thinks that Bitcoin SV (BSV) is ‘Pure Dumpster Fire’

During Christmas, an influential cryptocurrency enthusiast came up with an analogy targeting Ethereum that the creator, Vitalik Buterin, actually was not thrilled about. The analogy alleged that “Ethereum-ism” was like “Marxism”.

The Discussion

Vitalik, Ethereum’s co-founder, was involved in a Twitter discussion with cryptocurrency entrepreneur and commentator Tuur Demeester on Christmas day. In this discussion, he stated that Bitcoin Cash’s (BCH) new hard fork Bitcoin Cash ‘Satoshi’s Vision’ (BSV) is practically a “pure dumpster fire”.

Yeah no, I have my disagreements with the bitcoin roadmap, PoW, etc but they’re trying to do something that’s genuinely cool tech. BSV is a pure dumpster fire.

Buterin was involved in an exhaustive debate about the pros and cons of two algorithms primarily used by many cryptos: Proof-of-Stake (PoS) and Proof-of-Work (PoW). In the long-term, Ethereum plans to transfer from PoW to PoS with Vitalik confirming that he does not believe in the PoW.

I don’t believe in proof of work!

The Ethereum co-founder is renowned to say his raw opinions on the recent developments in the cryptocurrency world on social media. Most of the online users seem to agree with him on various matters about where the crypto industry should develop towards.

While Buterin has evidently disregarded PoW and publicly disagrees with Bitcoin’s roadmap, it is obvious that he is thrilled by the technology currently in development. This outlook is not shared with Bitcoin SV that purports to be designed in Bitcoin’s original vision.

BSV aims to use giant block sizes in future to solve challenges existing ‘on the chain.’ However, it has continuously faced publicity and technical difficulties since its launch on November 15.

When users asked Buterin for his opinion about the new altcoin by an advocate, he vehemently disagreed and stated that the altcoin is collateral damage. The user had alleged that the scaling plans from Bitcoin developers, particularly ‘off-chain’ scaling through the Lightning Network was just “a joke”, but Buterin was swift to respond.

Nonetheless, the user never lashed back when faced with profuse negative comments from Buterin. The user’s lack of reiteration is contrary to that of self-proclaimed “Satoshi Nakamoto” Craig Wright’s reactions that is famous for not accepting any negative comments against BSV.

The only positive news over Christmas is that BCH, BSV, and ETH are showing strong signs of recovery from their recent sharp falls.
