Vitalik Buterin Calls Bitcoin SV (BSV) a “Pure Dumpster Fire”

Vitalik Buterin, the creator of Ethereum (ETH), is not known for pulling punches when discussing technology and other projects within the crypto industry.

As one might expect given his past comments, Buterin has a less than positive take on Bitcoin SV (BSV), the newly forked version of Bitcoin Cash (BCH), going as far as calling it a “pure dumpster fire.”

In a recent tweet made in response to a Bitcoin SV bull who claimed the new altcoin’s block size provides a clearer path to scalability than Bitcoin’s Lightning Network (LN), Buterin revealed that he’s more of a fan of Bitcoin than many might think.

Yeah no, I have my disagreements with the bitcoin roadmap, PoW, etc but they're trying to do something that's genuinely cool tech. BSV is a pure dumpster fire.

While Buterin has clearly expressed his disdain for Proof-of-Work (PoW) and broadly disagrees with the leading digital currency’s roadmap, it’s clear he is excited by the tech currently in development. This sentiment is not shared with Bitcoin SV, which claims to be created in Bitcoin’s original vision.

Bitcoin SV has also had a tough go in terms of adoption, as multiple major crypto exchanges, including Coinbase and Gemini, have yet to list it months after being formed.

BSV currently trades for $94.66 with a market cap of $1.66 billion, making it the 8th largest coin in the AltDex 100 Index (ALT100), a benchmark index for large-cap cryptocurrencies and tokens.
