Update (6:48am EST): Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has announced Ukraine’s cancellation of an airdrop.

The Ukraine government had confirmed plans of an airdrop to all wallets that donated to the government’s crypto donation addresses. A lot of users started reporting an airdrop of WORLD tokens earlier today, apparently coming from the Ukrainian government. However, evidence suggests that this is not a genuine airdrop.

  • The Ukrainian Government approved an airdrop after accepting DOT donations earlier this month. More than $33 million worth of cryptocurrencies have been raised by donors from across the globe.
  • WORLD, a new token is being airdropped to addresses that donated to the government wallet. However, the token has been listed as misleading on Etherscan.
  • There have been no official confirmations of an airdrop by the Ukrainian government so far. According to a tweet on March 2nd, the airdrop is expected to commence on March 3rd, at 6:00pm Kyiv local time, which is GMT +2.
  • On twitter, some users have suggested an ongoing spoof.
