Pharos, a parallel Layer 1 blockchain for financial infrastructure, has received a strategic investment from GCL New Energy, a Hong Kong–listed renewable energy company and infrastructure investor. The deal values Pharos at nearly $1 billion.
The investment follows an earlier announcement made on January 8, 2026. The transaction was finalized after completing the disclosure procedures required by the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
Through the partnership, the companies plan to explore several projects related to energy and blockchain infrastructure. The collaboration may include tokenization of renewable energy assets, decentralized energy trading systems, and tools for tracking and verifying carbon emissions.
