ETH Kipu Foundation, an organization focused on supporting and developing the Ethereum ecosystem in Latam, has partnered with the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires in Argentina to include Ethereum and blockchain as part of high school curricula. Additionally, these two institutions are working to develop an online Solidity course to train young adults to code Ethereum apps.
Ethereum and Blockchain Courses to Be Taught at High Schools in Argentina
Argentina surpasses its Latin America peers in terms of instruction and education for smart contracts-enabled blockchains. ETH Kipu Foundation, a Latam-focused ethereum support organization, and the Ministry of Education of the City of Buenos Aires had partnered to include Ethereum and blockchain instruction in high school courses.
A press release issued by the foundation, which qualified this development as a “major leap forward in preparing the next generation for the tech economy,” stated that as part of this partnership, students in Buenos Aires will offer professional internships in blockchain projects starting on August 27.
Also, this team-up includes the development of an online Solidity course, the language in which Ethereum apps are written, for training 500 students aged 18 and over. This seeks to empower these citizens to enter the Ethereum dev community and start coding apps with use cases linked to businesses as part of the local economy.
Furthermore, to ensure the success of this initiative, the foundation has also focused on training 30 teachers about Ethereum with a “hybrid training” program. No info about the possible extension of this initiative to other cities or provinces of the country was provided.
Paula D., a co-founder of ETH Kipu Foundation, was optimistic about the effects of this program, stating that it might open new career paths for young Argentines due to the relevance of the abilities that will be taught to them. She stressed:
This initiative will open up new career opportunities for young people and place Argentina at the forefront of the global blockchain movement.
Buenos Aires has been a crypto-friendly enclave in the country, having reported it would run Ethereum nodes by 2023.
