  • Tesla’s billionaire says he “clearly” doesn’t know who invented bitcoin.
  • Tesla CEO Elon Musk referred to Nick Szabo as “probably more.”

Elon Musk clarified that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto, the unknown person or group of persons often credited with inventing Bitcoin. In a podcast with Lex Fridman, Tesla CEO Elon Musk reiterated that he did not develop Bitcoin and that the progression of ideas that lead to the cryptocurrency is more important than the name of the person who came up with the concept.

When discussing the development of ideas, Tesla CEO Elon Musk referred to Nick Szabo as “probably more.” In a podcast released on Tuesday, artificial-intelligence researcher Lex Fridman asked Musk what he thought about the genuine identity of Nakamoto.

Musk replied:

“You can look at the evolution of ideas before the launch of bitcoin and see who wrote about those ideas.”

Mystery Remains Unsolved

Tesla’s billionaire says he “clearly” doesn’t know who invented bitcoin, but Szabo’s views appear crucial to the invention of the world’s most popular cryptocurrency, he claims. In October 2008, a pseudonymous figure named Satoshi Nakamoto originally introduced the concept of Bitcoin.

Scientists studying language examined the bitcoin whitepaper written by Nakamoto and 10 other alleged bitcoin inventors in 2014. They were unanimous in their assessment of the findings.

The New York Times article published in 2015, pinned Szabo. Although he has talked about the history of bitcoin and blockchain technology in the past, he has consistently refuted accusations that he is the digital currency’s mysterious creator. Because he created the “bit gold” cryptocurrency in 1998, he was connected to bitcoin.
