The face and former CEO of the world’s largest crypto exchange Binance – Changpeng Zhao, aka CZ – has launched his new venture dubbed ‘Giggle Academy.’
CZ, who stepped down as the CEO of Binance in November, announced Monday the launch of his new educational project. CZ pled guilty to a charge of violating federal money laundering rules.
Giggle Academy, which isn’t related to the crypto space, aims to provide basic education from grade 1 to 12 “with an adaptive individualized curriculum.” Per the academy’s concept paper, Giggle wants to target those who don’t have access to basic schooling.

The curriculum included all major subjects as well as subjects that current schools don’t teach including blockchain, finance, AI and EQ.
Further, CZ wrote on Twitter that the Giggle team is hiring and selected candidates can work directly under CZ. Giggle Academy is currently looking for teachers who can create digital content, he wrote.
We are looking for teacher(s) who can create digital content.

During the launch, Zhao stressed that the new project does not involve any new token launch and it purely a non-crypto related project.
“Launching a new project. No, no new tokens. Education project.”
Surprisingly, the entire courses on the platform are completely free and all classes are online.
CZ’s Sentencing Due in April
The criminal sentencing for CZ, which was first scheduled in February, has been postponed to April 30. However, per a filing from Nov. 24, authorities indicated that he may face a harsher punishment than initially anticipated.
According to former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission official John Reed Stark, CZ could serve 12-18 months in prison.
Last week, Zhao was ordered to surrender his Canadian passport in line with the updated bail agreement. Per court documents, he was ordered to hand over all current and expired passports and travel documents to his counsel. Additionally, he also cannot apply for a new passport from another country.
