Cryptocurrencies and memes have seemingly gone hand-in-hand since the very beginning, occasionally blurring the lines between joke and currency, like Dogecoin (DOGE).

This week, crypto’s meme-filled history gained a new chapter when John McAfee, founder of the eponymous antivirus company, announced plans to launch a new token called “Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself” (WHACKD).

Of course, the name is derived from the popular meme that highlights the peculiar nature of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged suicide while under surveillance in a government facility back in August.

Based on the available information, the Ethereum (ETH) token has no real utility other than for transactions and spreading the idea that Epstein didn’t kill himself — although, the transaction-based burn mechanism is undeniably interesting.

McAfee notes that the token will be airdropped on Friday and will immediately be listed on his new decentralized exchange, McAfee DEX.
