In an effort to garner mainstream appeal, Tel Aviv-based social trading platform eToro has hired Alec Baldwin as a spokesperson.

Based on eToro’s recent marketing, Baldwin has been brought on to help promote eToro’s newly released feature for US investors called “CopyTrader,” which allows eToro users to copy the investments of other crypto traders.

🇺🇸 We believe that trading #crypto shouldn’t be harder than retweeting this post. That’s why we invented CopyTrader™ and hired this man to demonstrate. #JustHitCopy #bitcoin

The feature reportedly boasts a 73% success rate based out of 124 million copied trades.

This isn’t the only new feature to be added to eToro in October. As we previously reported, the platform recently formed a partnership with cryptocurrency information services firm The TIE to manage a tradeable crypto index based on Twitter sentiment.

The TIE-Long Only CopyPortfolio is based on The TIE’s machine learning and language processing models that analyze 850 million tweets per day to determine monthly rebalances based on positive sentiment.
