CoinMarketCap, the popular cryptocurrency price tracking site, has announced that it will be launching a new competition TV show called "Killer Whale." The show draws inspiration from the popular reality TV series "Shark Tank" and will allow entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas for new Web3 products and projects to a panel of judges.

In partnership with Web3 entertainment company Hello Labs, the new program is set to bring the entrepreneurial energy of the Web3 space to homes all over the world. The judges for the show will be made up of entrepreneurs, influencers, and founders of Web3 companies.

Interested parties can submit their applications to Hello.one and CoinMarketCap beginning on May 2. Those chosen will go through several rounds of interviews in Hollywood, California. Filming for the show is set to begin in June, and the show will be released across major streaming services and Hello Labs' on-demand Hello TV service.

The aim of the show is to open the door to the next billion users into Web3 by entertaining and educating them on all things crypto, said Sander Gortjes, the CEO of Hello Labs. The rise in popularity of Web3-adjacent television shows highlights the diverse use cases for blockchain technology and a growing interest in crypto among consumers of mass media.

More Web3 Films to Come Out Soon

The co-creator of "Rick and Morty," Dan Harmon, is set to launch a show on Fox called "Krapopolis" sometime in 2023. The show has already launched its inaugural 10,420 Krap Chicken non-fungible token (NFT) collection in August, which allows holders to vote on show elements, access exclusive content, and earn rewards.

Other NFT-based television shows are also set to hit the screens in the coming months. Jon Heder is set to star in an NFT-enhanced animated series called "Space Junk," which will premiere at Consensus 2023. Additionally, David Ayer is set to direct a new NFT series called "Lollipop," which is being hailed as a groundbreaking interactive project.

Web3 film appears to be a growing trend with many film announcements coming out recently. Although the CoinMarketCap show is not an NFT-based series, it will be focused on the Web3 scene. As more Web3-adjacent television shows emerge, we can expect to see further growth and development in this space, with more creative use cases for blockchain technology and NFTs in the entertainment industry.

Closing Thoughts

The launch of "Killer Whale" is a significant milestone for the Web3 space, and it highlights the growing interest in crypto and blockchain technology among mainstream audiences.

With the rise in popularity of NFT-based television shows and the growth of Web3 film, we can expect to see many new and exciting developments in the entertainment industry. The future of entertainment is being shaped by Web3, and it is an exciting time for creators, entrepreneurs, and audiences alike.
