Actor Anthony Hopkins is among the first major Hollywood stars to venture into the world of NFTs. The legendary actor now appears to dig deeper into the NFT world. Hopkins shared his Ethereum Name Service (ENS) name on Twitter and went on to ask fellow celebrities for artwork suggestions. The actor, well known for his role in “The Silence of the Lambs,” has changed his Twitter handle to (AHopkins.eth).
eth, an ENS, is an indicator of a crypto wallet’s contents. It’s a common move for those in the NFT and crypto sector. Public celebrities like Jimmy Fallon, a comic and TV show host, have adopted the move with a good example.
Hopkins asked Fallon, rapper Snoop Dogg, actress Reese Witherspoon, and other Web3-savvy celebs for advice on where to find good NFT artwork. There are so many talented NFT artists. It’s mind-blowing. Any ideas? Hopkins tweeted, naming all three celebrities in the entertainment industry.
The celebrity response to Hopkin’s tweet
The first to answer was Fallon.
I like your contemplating photo. You can find some talented artists on the market, and the area is pleasant.

However, Aaron Neville stated that he doesn’t know a lot. Neville told Hopkins that all he knew was that he liked him a lot, and that might be all he needed to know. Neville went on to ask Hopkins to DM him.
Thousands of people have retweeted Hopkins’ message. Also, crypto detractors mocked the actor for showing interest in the space. The best part was that NFT enthusiasts were ecstatic to see another high-profile entertainer explore the sector. NFTs typically represent digital artwork, collectibles, and online game assets, since they serve as proof of ownership. A growing number of artists in the film and music industries are embracing NFT technology, from known artists to newcomers.
Last year, Hopkins’s cinematic challenge “Zero Contact” was on Vuele, a site for releasing NFTs. Vuele packages movies with additional behind-the-scenes content and innovative interactive options like Q&A sessions. Besides Kevin Smith and Quentin Tarantino, notable filmmakers have also entered the NFT market.
It seems Hopkins bought the ENS name (AHopkins.eth) back in May. However, the wallet linked with the ENS name has yet to purchase any additional NFTs at the current time. A few buyers have sent in NFT photos of Hopkins’s wallet since he promoted it on Twitter. It is a regular occurrence with wallets from celebs and models.
Which other prominent celebrities are in the NFT space?
As a renowned NFT collector, Snoop Dogg possesses photos from the Bored Ape Yacht Club and several other projects. Besides his own NFTs, he has also collaborated with The Sandbox and the inventor of the Nyan Cat meme to produce NFT projects. Snoop Dogg has also claimed to be “Cozomo de’ Medici,” a pseudonymous NFT collector with a valuable collection.
There are high-profile collections, including Bored Ape Yacht Membership and Moonbirds owned by Fallon, who is also a collector of NFTs. Another celebrity is actress Renée Witherspoon, a strong advocate of promoting Web3 technology. Witherspoon’s ‘Hey Sunshine company’ is producing TV and film projects based on the NFT collection.
NFTs and cinema
Like other creative industries, the film industry has realized that NFTs can transform the industry. As a result, film series like The Godfather, Godzilla vs. Kong have produced digital artworks based on their IP.
A growing number of independent filmmakers are turning to NFTs to help fund their projects. Indie director Jim Cummings is auctioning off an NFT of the script for his film Thunder Road.
Cummings wants it to help fund future projects. A crowd-funding campaign for Ethereum: The Infinite Garden is taking place on the blockchain blogging platform mirror by selling NFTs. In addition, film NFTs can distribute digital copies of films, allowing for actual ownership of the files.
