CryptoKaiju today announced the launch of the first NFT collectible toy: Sushi

This is a real 10-inch plush toy containing a tamper-resistant NFC (Near Field Communication) chip attached to the tag on the back, and containing a unique ID linked to an NFT.

This is the seventh release of CryptoKaiju’s NFT collectible toys, following several sold-out releases and a collaboration with the Sacramento Kings.

The NFC chip attached to the NFT provides the ability to ascertain the origin and authenticity of the toy, in an effort to create and certify scarcity and provenance for physical collectibles.

The uniqueness of CryptoKaiju NFTs

As the chip contains a unique ID, the physical collectible is “digitally unique”, and the linked NFT is used to ensure that provenance and authenticity are not falsified.

In this way, every single piece put on the market contains a chip that certifies its provenance and authenticity, which can be publicly verified by anyone on the blockchain.

In addition, CryptoKaiju is partnering with the decentralized gaming platform The Sandbox, whereby purchasers can explore the virtual world of The Sandbox with CryptoKaiju characters.

The Sushi toys, created as a tribute to SushiSwap, will go on sale from March 31st, with shipments starting in April. They will be available for purchase with USD, ETH, DAI and Sushi.

They will be sold packaged in a SushiSwap branded takeaway carton, used with the permission of the SushiSwap team.

CryptoKaiju’s NFT-certified toys project was launched in 2018, and already has 6 sold-out releases. It uses the Ethereum blockchain to link each toy to a unique NFT that certifies its origin.
