Pop artist Grimes released ten new sets of digital artwork and animation called the WarNymh collection as non-fungible tokens or NFTs. These NFTs were cumulatively sold for over $5 million since their launch. These ten pieces of digital art contain still images and animations.

What are NFTs?

Non-fungible tokens are a type of cryptographic token which represents uniqueness and hence are not interchangeable. The value of NFTs is based on the number of people willing to pay for them, unlike traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc. NFTs are different and one of their own kind works that cannot be duplicated due to their blockchain technology.

The ten pieces of digital art come with three pieces of images and animations, namely “Death of the Old”, “Earth”, and “Mars” featuring unreleased music. The first one named “Death of The Old” features a demo of “Anhedonia” the “Earth” presents Ærythe” and “Mars” presents the “Mars theme.”

A statement regarding the collection reads, Merging the raw images of a photogrammetry scan, enunciating her iconic tattoos, with a retopologized mesh that was sculpted, modeled, and morphed into a variety of forms before being permanently sealed into the body of a baby angel, a cherub. She exists in the liminal state of the virtual world, a Grimes narrative universe, within an alternate history of mythology and the infinite fragments of the future. She is a pioneer in the rapidly expanding metaverse.”
