The First And The Largest Sports Collegiate NFT Is Launching On This Marketplace

NFTs had a great year in 2021; the hype around digital assets was at its peak. NFTs or non-fungible tokens have proved to be more than just digital art. The digital assets continue to be utilized for various projects, including gaming and metaverse projects. We also get to see unique use-cases of NFTs in the past year. Surprisingly, a sports-related NFT grabbed a third position on the list of most searched NFTs, according to a recent study. 

RECUR also debuts in the NFT sector. It is an NFT company that curates branded experiences for its users in the NFT field. 

NFTU, RECUR’s latest release, captures happening moments from college basketball and provides them with NFT collectibles. There are various use-cases of NFTU; users can complete challenges to earn unique rewards, take advantage of weekly airdrops, and trade NFTs through the NFT marketplace. 

Rarities of NFTs will be decided based on the player and the moment of play. There will be multiple NFTs in four different rarities at four different prices, in the weekly drop: Common at $10, Premium at $25, Rare at $125, and Ultra Rare at $500.

Carmelo Anthony On Why NFTU Is Special 

Highlighting the significance of sports spirit, former Syracuse University player and the current forward for the Los Angeles Lakers, Carmelo Anthony, shared about his experience at Syracuse. 

Anthony shares his emotions and says he will always feel like a part of a community in a significant way because of the team, the fans, and the city. “Syracuse became home for me right away,” Anthony believes that it is what makes NFTU special. “No matter where you go, you’re going to find somebody that reps your team. That connection is indescribable,” he adds.

While the co-founder of RECUR, Zach Brunch, talked about the significance of providing an opportunity to the already crypto-oriented youth in order to back their teams: 

With the launch of NFTU and celebrity on-board with RECUR, Brunch claims that they are “pioneering the future of fandom.” In addition, creating a community of sports fans in college that “spans a generation.”

Currently, NFTU covers over 50 universities and more than 100 former and current players, including Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin, Ja Morant, and many more. The platform’s official launch will take place on March 14th for RECUR Pass holders and March 15th for the general public.
