Axie Infinity Land NFT Sells for $2.3 Million, Surpasses Record - CoinQuora

The leading GameFi and Play-to-Earn project Axie Infinity made it to the headlines once again as a Genesis Land Plot sells for 550 ETH — worth $2.3 million at the time of the sale. According to the Axie Infinity team, this is the “largest sum ever paid for a single plot of digital land.”

Back in February, the project’s previous highest sale record was 888.25 ETH for 9 Genesis Land Plots — worth $1.5 million at the time of sale. At the moment, Axie Infinity holds the number one ranking for the biggest all-time sales volume with over $3.3 billion in sales, beating CryptoPunks which is at $1.6 billion.

Axie Infinity is a Play-to-Earn game ecosystem that allows its users to mint non-fungible tokens called Axies through breeding, play, and earning crypto (Smooth Love Potion).

Currently, there are more than 9 million Axies that have been minted, and the platform is not stopping there. The team recently announced that they are holding a breeding event and will be giving away a rare NFT as a reward to whoever breeds the 10 millionth Axie.

The project recently also released its own decentralized exchange called Katana where users can buy and sell cryptos and earn by providing liquidity.
