Blitmap NFTs was developed in 2021 by Dom Hoffman who is also famous for the co-creation of Vine, a video creating app. Blitmap is a collection of pixelated crypto art and consists of easily recognizable everyday objects, which may include chickens, teddy bears, hands, burgers, boomboxes, etc.

The format of each picture is 32*32, with images having up to 4 colors and the whole thing must be smaller than 268 bytes. Small transaction sizes prevent Ethereum Blockchain from being bloated.

Blitmap $NFT is created by contributions from 17 artists and has 100 original Blitmaps. These Blitmaps were later mixed to make 16,00 siblings. After the completion of the collection, an expansion was released which is called The Blitnauts. It is available for free for Blitmap owners.
