Amazon has postponed the launch of the NFT trading platform to May. According to previous reports, the IT giant planned to launch the Amazon Digital Marketplace on April 24th. The marketplace will first be available to users in the United States and will then expand to other countries.
After the November crash of the FTX crypto exchange, Amazon decided to delay the launch of the NFT trading platform until the end of 2022 due to difficult market conditions. The latest delay is the result of precautions taken to protect against technological errors and unforeseen circumstances.
Amazon Digital Marketplace will feature 80 collections of non-fungible tokens, including such popular NFT series as Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club. However, at first, only 15 collections are planned to be added to the platform.
