Porsche Drives Into the Web3 World With Its First NFT Collection

Porsche is the latest automobile manufacturer to enter the NFT art market. The company displayed a gallery of digital photographs using the 911 at Art Basel in Miami, Florida.

According to Lutz Meschke, Deputy Chairman and Member of the Executive Board for Finance and IT, the Web3 team has the autonomy to develop innovations in this area. Porsche’s innovation management also sees great potential in Web3’s purchasing experience, metaverse, and supply chain.

The first Web3 project from Porsche is a 7,500-piece NFT collection inspired by the legendary Porsche 911. The NFTs will be ready in January 2023, with each item designed by Patrick Vogel, a Hamburg designer and 3D artist. Porsche NFT owners get access to special virtual and real-world experiences. Digital pioneers may participate in Porsche’s Web3 journey and interact with the brand directly.

A large sculpture by Chris Labrooy portraying a big racing car driver playing with a genuine Porsche 911 like a toy is also part of Porsche’s Art Basel exhibit. The installation is meant to inspire recollections of playing with little automobiles as a child. From November 29 to December 3, the scene will be on exhibit at the Pérez Art Museum Miami.

According to Deniz Keskin, Porsche’s Director of Brand Management and Partnerships,

Venturing into new areas has always been the spirit of our brand,” Keskin said. “We are excited to enter Web3 with our first NFT collection. Our goal is an extension of our brand into a fully digital environment. And ideally, to meet new friends along the way.

Concurrently, Porsche believes that this new virtual brand presentation would widen the appeal of its sports vehicles by including sought-after digital artifacts. Keskin claims that the use of NFTs and Web3 technologies will allow businesses to co-create with their consumers and provide a more customized experience.
