The Rario non-fungible token (NFT) platform is the first launched with the support of the newly formed Polygon Studios.
Ratio, a cricket-focused digital collectibles NFT platform with global partnerships, has announced its debut on Polygon. Polygon says that its platform hosts more than 300 NFT and gaming companies “with 5-6x more gaming & NFT Dapps than any other chain outside of Ethereum.” Polygon’s full-stack Ethereum scaling solution will limit the cost to enthusiasts looking to expand their collections.
Additionally, Rario is the first project to debut with support from Polygon’s new NFT and gaming department, Polygon Studios. Polygon Studios is aimed at giving celebrities and big brands the tools needed to create and launch custom NFTs and unique marketplaces. The press release from Polygon says “We look forward to growing Rario’s cricket-based digital collectible platform and joining our fast-growing NFT ecosystem.”
Rario breaks ground
The Rario platform has formed partnerships with two professional cricket leagues, the Lanka Premier League and the Caribbean Premier League. Rario’s roster also features several of the sports’ superstar players past and present. Former Indian player Zaheer Khan along with current stars, Shakib Al Hasan, Smriti Mandhana, and Shafali Verma are among those who have signed deals with Rario to create exclusive NFTs. The platform has also signed former captain of the South African national team, Faf Du Plessis, to a deal.
The platform collaborates with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), and Cricket Australia (CA) to secure deals with leagues and players. The group is committed to helping preserve the history of the sport along with bringing it into the digital age.
