Maincard, a Web3-focused fantasy sports platform set to revolutionise fan engagement and experience across major sports, has announced the Alpha version of its testnet will go live on 20 September, 2022.
According to the platform, the testnet that’ll be live for 24 hours offers a chance for users to test for and reveal any potential bugs before the public network launches in November. The feedback and suggestions from these testers will help improve Maincard, the team said in a press release shared with Invezz.
Once the platform launches in November, the goal would be to bring billions of fans into the blockchain gaming and fantasy sports space, said Val Maincard, the founder and CEO of Maincard.io. He noted in a statement:
“The blockchain technology is not moving anywhere with 0.5% of the population using it. We’re here to bring 3 billion sports fans into the world of Web3.”
Web3 fantasy sports is a fast-growing sector, with industry giants increasingly looking to bring the best of the blockchain and metaverse experiences to users. An example is the recent collaboration between Sony and NFT Tech to boost the sports NFTs ecosystem.
Bug bounty worth $500,000 in NFTs
Users helping to battle-test the platform will have an opportunity to benefit from a bug bounty pool of $500,000 in NFTs, as per the news release. Winners will use the NFTs in-game or they can choose to sell them when the game launches in November.
The prize includes three types of Maincards – Common, Rare, and Epic – valued at $10, $100, and $1000 respectively. Interested users can participate by registering at maincard.io.
Some of the popular sports the platform will bring to the masses include Football, eSports, and MMA among others. Users will enjoy real-time access and participation in these sporting events.
