Bitdeer and DHI to Launch Eco-Friendly Crypto Mining in Bhutan

Bitdeer Technologies Group and Druk Holding and Investments (DHI) have joined forces to establish environmentally friendly digital asset mining operations in Bhutan. The partnership intends to attract global investments by launching a closed-end fund worth $500m to support blockchain technologies. Utilizing Bhutan's zero-emission energy, Bitdeer and DHI plan to create a universal store of value while contributing to the country's tech sector through the development of international stakeholder networks. The collaboration is expected to create employment opportunities, boost economic growth, and generate foreign currency revenue for the local community and the nation. Bhutan has been quietly investing in cryptocurrencies since 2019.
