Cryptocurrency exchange OKX has extended its partnership with current Premier League champions Manchester City F.C., with a new deal making the firm the English club’s official training kit partner.

OKX Becomes Man City’s Training Kit Partner

According to a press release, OKX will be the new training kit partner for Manchester City’s men’s and women’s teams. Based on the terms of the deal, the exchange’s logo will be featured on the training kits throughout the 2022-2023 season.

As part of the announcement, there would be artworks featuring Man City’s recent signing Erling Haaland, full-back João Cancelo, center-back John Stones, and winger Jack Grealish in four different locations in Manchester. The murals will be created by street artist Akse P19 and Global Street Art Agency.

Commenting on the collaboration, Global Chief Marketing Officer for OKX, Haider Rafique, said:

“Being Man City’s Official Training Kit Partner helps us extend that mindset from the training ground over to our trading app community […] Our partnership with Man City has provided a great platform through which we have the opportunity to educate those curious about crypto and offer those already involved the training they need to participate responsibly.”

Furthermore, OKX is Man City’s presenting partner for the English club’s first global Trophy Tour. The Premier League trophy will be taken to fans’ doorsteps in Spain, France, the United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Korea, South Africa, and Norway.

The latest development comes four months after OKX became Manchester City’s official crypto exchange partner. OKX also signed a multi-year partnership deal with McLaren Racing to serve as its official primary partner.

Crypto and Soccer Teams

Meanwhile, the OKX – Manchester City deal is the latest collaborative effort between cryptocurrency companies and the sports industry, especially with soccer teams, despite the current crypto market downturn.

As previously reported by CryptoPotato, Binance entered a multi-year NFT deal with the Portuguese soccer legend and Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo.

Major Brazilian soccer club Sao Paulo allowed fans to pay for march tickets with cryptocurrency. In May, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne became the brand ambassador for Singaporean platform Phemex.

Earlier in March, another crypto exchange CryptoCom, which has made several sports partnerships, inked a sponsorship deal with FIFA. The company will be the exclusive cryptocurrency trading platform sponsor of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
