Walt, the crypto app formerly known as Wallet in Telegram, plans to let users research and trade perpetual futures through Mira, ChatGPT and Claude, according to an advance company press release supplied to The Defiant.

The planned feature, called Agentic Trading, would connect an AI assistant to a user's Walt trading account. Mira would bring the experience into Telegram conversations, while ChatGPT and Claude users would interact through those assistants' own chat environments, the release says.

The change would add AI-directed execution and monitoring to an existing derivatives product. Walt introduced perpetuals through Lighter on April 2, offering more than 50 assets and up to 50x leverage at launch. The Defiant previously covered that rollout. Perpetuals let traders take positions on price movements without owning the underlying asset and have no expiry date.

Founder and CEO Andrew Rogozov previewed conversational AI trading in his September 28 rebrand announcement.

Walt's current trading guide instructs users to select a contract, direction, margin and leverage, then review and open the position. Under the planned integration, users could instead instruct an agent to open or close long and short positions through conversation, the release says.

From App Controls to Conversation

Beyond placing orders, Walt says the agents would analyze portfolio exposure, leverage and liquidation risk; monitor positions around the clock; and adjust take-profit and stop-loss orders on users' instructions. They would also support simple rules-based strategies, including staggered entries and rebalancing long and short exposure.

Order execution would be disabled by default. According to the release, an agent could trade only from a dedicated account the user chooses to fund, with no permission to withdraw or transfer money. Users could set trading parameters, monitor activity and disconnect the agent at any time.

Those permission limits are distinct from protection against trading losses. Walt's existing perpetuals terms warn that losses can exceed the collateral allocated to a position in some market conditions. They also allow Walt to apply other balances held in a user's Walt accounts against losses, fees and shortfalls.
