Jupiter Says YOLO Hit $1 Billion in Volume in Under 24 Hours

Jupiter said on Oct. 16 that its experimental YOLO trading product recorded $1 billion in volume in less than 24 hours after its Oct. 15 beta launch, offering up to 1,000x leverage on $SOL, $BTC and $ETH price movements.

The volume measures leveraged trading exposure, not user deposits. Jupiter’s trading documentation defines leaderboard volume as notional volume on positions opened and closed. Its example shows how 10 JupUSD of collateral at 1,000x creates a $10,000 position.

“$1B in volume on Jupiter Yolo in less than 24 hours!” Jupiter wrote. The announcement did not disclose aggregate user collateral, the house-pool balance or whether any profits were waiting in the payout queue.

YOLO is unaudited, Jupiter disclosed. A 0.1% adverse price move at 1,000x liquidates a position and consumes its collateral, according to its trading rules. Losses cannot exceed that position’s collateral, but there are no stop-loss or take-profit orders.

Winners Depend on a Separate House Pool

Jupiter builder Siong described the distinction between YOLO’s positions and market trading in an Oct. 15 ET post: “YOLO uses a paper trading model, where positions aren’t actually executed in the market, but the profits and losses are real.”

Under Jupiter’s payout rules, traders face a single house pool shared across $SOL, $BTC and $ETH. The pool grows only through settled trader losses and pays winning traders’ profits. Users cannot deposit into it to provide liquidity.

That pool is separate from the Jupiter Liquidity Pool, or $JLP, used by Jupiter Perps. On those existing $JLP markets, traders borrow assets from liquidity providers and can use up to 250x leverage.

Closing a YOLO position returns its remaining collateral immediately in JupUSD, regardless of the house balance. Profit is different: it is paid at close only if the pool can cover the entire amount and no earlier claims are queued. Otherwise, the whole profit enters a first-in, first-out queue. While a queue exists, new winning closes join it too.

Queued profits are paid in full, one at a time, as further trader losses replenish the pool. There is no payout deadline. Jupiter’s rules warn: “The profit may never pay out.”
