Uniswap has processed approximately $1.5 billion in stock token trading on Robinhood Chain since the platform’s launch about six weeks ago, according to data from Crypto Briefing. The decentralized exchange now accounts for 99% of stock token liquidity on Robinhood’s proprietary layer-2 network, highlighting the rapid adoption of tokenized equities within the DeFi ecosystem.
Record Trading Activity and Market Share
According to the report, Uniswap’s daily stock token trading volume exceeded $130 million on Aug. 29, setting a new record. This surge follows the platform surpassing $1 billion in cumulative volume in mid-August, reflecting accelerating user interest. Notably, about 60% of trading activity occurs outside regular U.S. stock market hours, underscoring the 24/7 nature of crypto markets and the appeal of tokenized assets for global traders.
What This Means for Tokenized Equities
The rapid growth of stock tokens on Robinhood Chain signals a broader trend: the convergence of traditional finance and decentralized trading. By enabling fractional ownership and round-the-clock trading, these tokens offer flexibility that conventional stock exchanges cannot match. However, regulatory clarity remains a key concern, as tokenized securities must comply with existing securities laws in many jurisdictions. Uniswap’s dominance also raises questions about liquidity concentration and systemic risk within this nascent market.
