Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong asked crypto commentator Ansem how Coinbase could improve during a recent appearance on the Market Bubble podcast, prompting feedback centered on product priorities, token listings, and closer engagement with active market participants.

The discussion came as Armstrong continued efforts in Washington, where he urged lawmakers to advance the Clarity Act before the Senate’s August recess.

Coinbase CEO Receives Product Feedback From Ansem

Ansem said Coinbase had made progress by integrating Base into the Coinbase app and Coinbase Wallet. He pointed to features that allow users to interact with onchain applications without first creating a separate wallet or managing a seed phrase. He also referenced access to crypto-native applications, including Morpho, directly through the Coinbase platform.

He said Coinbase could improve by aligning product visibility more closely with market demand instead of focusing on selected projects. According to Ansem, some development teams believed they received less attention despite investing time and resources into building on the platform.

Ansem also identified token listings as another area where Coinbase could improve. He said competing exchanges had, at times, listed assets more quickly, creating comparisons among project teams. He further suggested expanding the number of employees with direct experience in onchain trading and crypto culture.

He cited Coby as an example of a hire with a strong understanding of market trends and said more people with similar experience could help the company remain connected to active users.

Coinbase CEO Pushes for Clarity Act in Washington

Separately, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong was in Washington meeting lawmakers as the Senate considered the Clarity Act.

Armstrong said the legislation reflected bipartisan work and would establish federal rules for the digital asset industry while strengthening consumer protections. He said the absence of clear federal laws had created uncertainty and argued that passing the bill would allow companies to invest in the United States with greater confidence.

Armstrong said he remained optimistic that lawmakers would approve the legislation before the August recess. He added that Coinbase could continue operating under the current regulatory environment if necessary, but argued that statutory clarity would provide stronger long-term certainty than relying on changing regulatory approaches.
