PayPal has agreed to acquire Cymbio, an Israeli platform that helps merchants sell products across AI chatbots, as the payments firm doubles down on agentic commerce.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2026.
The move builds on PayPal’s October rollout of AI-powered tools designed to help businesses surface their catalogs across conversational platforms. Cymbio’s infrastructure will enhance PayPal’s offering by enabling seamless product integration into chatbot environments like Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot.
Major brands including Abercrombie & Fitch, Fabletics, and Ashley Furniture already use PayPal’s tools to reach consumers browsing through AI agents. Support for ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and Gemini’s AI-powered search mode is expected soon.
Michelle Gill, EVP and GM of small business and financial services at PayPal, said the integration will help merchants expand product discovery and drive more sales in emerging AI shopping channels.
