Chipper cash was founded in 2015 and it now operates in nine African countries and has over five million customers. Using Ripple technology, the company will allow its users to perform global money transfers quicker and less expensively. These services will therefore be available 24/7 for continuous access to the financial support they need.
Strengthening Ripple’s African Strategy
This partnership marks Ripple’s second major move in Africa. Ripple first entered the continent in 2023 through a collaboration with Onafriq. The addition of Chipper Cash compliments the broader plan of connecting financial networks globally while significantly extending Ripple’s reach in the region.
Ripple’s design for blockchain payment system aims to eliminate the high costs associated with cross-border payments. The technology will enable users to send and receive money in real time with less delay and lower fees with Chipper Cash on board.
Meeting Africa’s Demand for Better Payment Solutions
Africa remains one of the regions most affected by limited access to efficient financial services. Usually, cross border transactions are slow and expensive. The partnership offers a streamlined solution powered by blockchain to solve these long standing issues.
As African businesses and individuals become more open to digital financial tools, this partnership aligns with that trend. It provides users with more reliable and accessible services and helps bridge the gap between local financial systems and global networks.
Ripple’s Global Reach and Regulatory Footprint
The Ripple Payments platform supports 90 payout markets across the globe while representing more than 90% of the daily foreign exchange market. Ripple Payments has completed more than $70 billion in payment transactions across the globe. Ripple maintains more than 60 regulatory licenses and registration authorizations that solidify its regulatory standing.
This global presence makes Ripple a preferred partner for fintechs like Chipper Cash looking to scale their services. The company’s experience in digital asset infrastructure helps reduce the complexity of cross-border transactions for financial providers and their customers.
Driving Innovation Through Collaboration
With the partnership, Chipper Cash will be able to enhance service efficiency and also expand the range of its offering. Additionally, the development adds to Ripple’s status as being a strong player in the African fintech landscape. With Ripple’s infrastructure and Chipper Cash’s localization, the partnership creates a more connected financial environment on the continent.
This development marks a step forward in making global payments more accessible for African users and businesses.
