Hamster Kombat (HMSTR), a play-to-earn mobile game hosted on the Telegram platform, gained more support from the world’s biggest crypto exchange, Binance, ahead of the much-anticipated airdrop. The exchange launched the Mega Campaign which is said to be the one-stop shop for Hamster.

The epic Telegram-based clicker game just took its snapshot for Season 1 and locked in token distribution for the upcoming token generation event (TGE) on September 26. With over 300 million active users, the game’s anti-cheating strategy ruffled some fur as many players got slashed for being labelled as cheaters.

Hamster Kombat’s secret airdrop announced

In the latest X post, Binance announced the Hamster Kombat Mega Campaign. The crypto exchange is giving away $30,000 in HMSTR token voucher rewards in its fresh move. Users need to complete several tasks in order to get a chance of grabbing a share from the reward pool.

Hamster Kombat was recently added to the Binance launch pool for one of the most epic token farming events of 2024. It allowed users to earn the new token by staking their BNB and FDUSD. The exchange will list the HMSTR token on September 26, 2024, at 12:00 (UTC). This would make Binance the first exchange to list the token in the market.

It highlighted that From September 19 to September 25, participants can farm a whopping 3 billion HMSTR tokens, which is 3% of the total supply. These tokens will be available as rewards for users who have locked their BNB and FDUSD tokens.

85% of the rewards (2.55 billion HMSTR) will go to the BNB pool, while, 15% (450M HMSTR) to FDUSD. There’s an hourly hard cap to keep it fair where 1.5 million HMSTR/hr is set for BNB and 267k for FDUSD.

Outrage sparked over HMSTR airdrop

Hamster Kombat’s season 1 airdrop has sparked outrage in the crypto community as around 63% of players got disqualified before the massive event. These players were reportedly disqualified over missing in-game keys.

The community is feeling misled and betrayed as players were initially told keys weren’t crucial for airdrop eligibility. The big surprise came in when it turned out that key collection was essential. Now, those without enough are out of the airdrop.

Gamers who focus on building their Points Per Hour (PPH) feel cheated, as the last-minute key requirement invalidates months of hard work. It seems like running a marathon and getting disqualified at the finish line.

New Hamster Kombat season is out now

Hamster Kombat is yet to reply on this matter, however, it has come up with a fresh announcement. It posted a message for the gaming CEOs that the game does not end with the snapshot and the game is now entering the Interlude Season of Hamster Kombat.

It highlighted that the Interlude Season is the warm-up before Season 2 and will last a couple of weeks. It added that users participating in the Interlude and farming diamonds will get an advantage that will come in handy in the upcoming season.
