At the end of last week, another cryptocurrency platform was hacked. This time, the hot wallet of the AscendEX exchange was hacked.

In a statement from the administration, it is noted that hackers were able to steal digital currencies totaling up to $ 77 million.

ERC-20 tokens were stolen from the hot wallet. In addition, the coins deployed based on the Polygon and Binance Chain networks became the prey of cybercriminals. The exchange promises the victims to reimburse all their losses at their own expense.

PeckShield experts found that $ 9 million each had been withdrawn from the hot wallet. Cryptocurrencies placed on autonomous addresses have been preserved in full. The hackers withdrew the lion's share of the funds in stablecoins USDC and USDT, analysts emphasized.

The Huobi platform agreed to help the affected exchange recover from the hack.

In early December, another exchange, BitMart, was hacked. Cybercriminals managed to withdraw tokens totaling almost $ 200 million. The management of the trading platform also promised to reimburse investors for all their losses from their reserves.
