A short while ago, slightly under 25 mln XTZ was transferred between wallets with anonymous owners. We might be witnessing another wave of investors’ interest to Tezos.

Gartantuan XTZ amount gets moving

Just recently, Tezos (XTZ) suddenly surged to the grab spot 10 on the CoinMarketCap scale, pushing away the three coins that usually compete for this place – TRX, ADA and XLM.

Many believe that that leap made by Tezos, as well as its 70-percent price spike, was caused by the XTZ staking feature added by Coinbase, Binance and Kraken.

Back then, several large transactions of XTZ were spotted by Whale Alert. However, about 20 hours ago, slightly under 25 mln XTZ was transferred - that's approximately $38,360,107. In four transactions out of seven Binance and Bitfinex took part, the others were conducted between unidentified users.

A new testnet for Layer-2

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the official Twitter account of Tezos Commons spread the word that the company is working on a new testent, called LabNet, for experimenting with its Layer-2.

Tezos Commons is now baking on a new Layer-2 test net available to developers. Check out LabNet on Agora to learn more. #Tezos #Developmenthttps://t.co/Lb4YZtqMSR

Explaining the significance of this news in a blog post, the company says:

“LabNet is a new testnet for Tezos designed to facilitate rapid iteration and user-centric experimentation, especially for Layer-2.”

“LabNet aims to complement the Tezos amendment process and runs alongside existing testnets (i.e. Babylonnet, Carthagenet, and Zeronet), upgrading to include experimental new features as they become available.”

It is not only about toying with experimental protocol features, the blog post states, it is inspired by user-centricity and takes into account the feedback about cross-cutting features.

“A new Tezos testnet aimed at Layer-2 experimentation and rapid iteration driven by user feedback.”

The Tezos team encourages any developer to fill in a special form to leave feedback and help the company improve the testnet.
