- The cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase (COIN) just made the meme token Shiba Inu (SHIB) available to New Yorkers.
- This allowed residents in that state to purchase, sell, trade, and even store digital currency.
Coinbase x Shiba Inu
Such a declaration was done on Friday after Coinbase recently added Shiba Inu, trading partner. This was even tweeted out by the crypto exchange platform stating that SHIB is now made available to NY folks and can do the above-mentioned.
Before the announcement, the platform on Wednesday had added Shiba Inu trading pairs. This too was tweeted by Coinbase Pro’s Twitter handle stating that both SHIB-GBP and SHIB-EUR order books are currently in “full-trading mode” adding that stop orders, limit, and market are also made available.
Further, on Monday, another notable crypto exchange site – Kraken – also tweeted stating that the Shiba Inu will be enlisted on their platform beginning Tuesday. Too bad it did not come to fruition though.
Kraken almost enlisted SHIB
That said, Kraken issued a statement highlighting that the community is an essential part of their considerations for all crypto listings adding that they appreciate the support they’ve been getting from their community. It went on to state that there are still more tasks at hand that they need to do as they move along their review process in introducing a new digital asset on their tradeable roster.
It was also on Friday when Shiba Inu’s price surged after taking a dip the previous day. As of publication, SHIB’s market price is at 0.000058 USD with a 24-hour low of USD 0.00005306 USD and a 24-hour high of 0.00005903 USD. The digital currency is currently ranked 11 in terms of market cap with $31,575,280,819.
Over a week ago, The Coin Republic reported that Shiba Inu has grown to become one of the major Ethereum burners. During that time, SHIB ranked sixth on the said category as it burned 394.5 ETH in almost 24 hours.
As of late, the Shiba Inu is sitting at number 10 in Tokenviews list as it burned 1,888.22 ETH in the past seven days. Meanwhile, Uniswap V2: Router 2 is still on the top spot followed by Tether.
