Shiba Inu (SHIB) continues to grow with the new listing on BtcTurk | Invezz

While Dogecoin certainly did dominate early 2021 as the most popular and the most well-performing asset, it appears that the end of 2021 is reserved for one of its clones  — Shiba Inu (SHIB/USD). Also based on the dog meme, Shiba Inu comes as a seemingly smoother and better version of Dogecoin (DOGE/USD), with the potential to maybe even become a DOGE killer someday.

For the time being, however, the coin is still significantly below the first memecoin, although its popularity is skyrocketing, just like its price in early October. In fact, SHIB has become so popular that it is being supported left and right, most recently by BtcTurk — Turkey’s first crypto exchange.

The exchange announced the listing of SHIB on BtcTurk and BtcTurk Pro, stating that it should take place on October 15th at 12 pm UTC. At least, this is when the deposits and withdrawals will officially start.

About BtcTurk

BtcTurk itself is a very old exchange at this point, launched on July 1st, 2013. Over the years, it has become one of the biggest exchanges for the people of Turkey, a major sports supporter, and, since 2019, a jersey sponsor of Yeni Malatyspor. In fact, it was the world’s first crypto exchange to sponsor a football team of this scale.

The exchange’s 24-hour volume is at 7,060 BTC, so it sees quite a bit of traffic. And, with Shiba Inu’s newly found popularity, it makes sense for the platform to seek to list the coin. After all, SHIB has been gaining a lot of traction with exchanges all over the world over the past two months, and especially over the past two weeks.

Only a month ago, it was supported by Coinbase, and it quickly became the most-traded asset on the largest US exchange. Now, it is expected to see similar popularity on BtcTurk, as well.
