From crypto kingpin to Substack writer—how the mighty fall. Sam Bankman-Fried, the disgraced former CEO of bankrupt digital-asset exchange FTX, has broken his silence with a lengthy post on the newsletter platform while on bail ahead of an October trial.
“I didn’t steal funds, and I certainly didn’t stash billions away,” Bankman-Fried wrote in a Substack post published Thursday. The 30-year-old founder of FTX and Alameda Research—an influential trading firm that is now also bust—faces charges of fraud to which he has pleaded not guilty, amid allegations that he mishandled customer funds.
