According to several articles published today, Binance is taking solid steps towards its expansion into South Korea.

Zhao avoided to confirm in full the establishment in South Korea, although he did mentioned to the local crypto news site blockinpress.com that they are working with local partners.

Further reports also published today point out towards the establishment in the country of a company named “Binance LLC”. The CEO of the firm talked to Coindesk Korea, and acknowledged the establishment of the firm. He also admitted ongoing conversations with Binance, but refused to delve into any more details of the partnership.

The headquartering of Binance in Seoul through local partnerships would potentially allow the CZ-led exchange to offer trading pairs using the South Korean won, much like they have done before with euros and pounds via their Jersey branch.

More evidence pointing out towards the incoming establishment of Binance in the Asian country comes from a job opening currently listed online, which requests a compliance officer to “to support our expansion into all global frontiers, including KYC, Client Onboarding and AML/CFT”. The role would be based in Seoul and one of the requirements for applicants is that they must be native Korean.

Zhao has shown plenty of interest for the country in the past, with some highlighted tweets listed below:

We now see Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong competing to be the blockchain hub in Asia. What do you think? I personally hope all of them success.
