Major US-based crypto exchange Coinbase has announced it’s giving away 1 billion Stellar Lumens (worth around $106 million) to users who are interested in studying the Stellar protocol, according to a tweet posted on March 26.

The announcement forms part of the company’s crypto-focused educational program, Coinbase Earn. The company states that this session is the “biggest Coinbase Earn opportunity yet,” with each eligible user earning up to $50 worth of XLM for studying the Stellar protocol.

The Coinbase Learn website features five educational videos up to three minutes long each. After watching the video and completing a short quiz, viewers are rewarded with $2 worth of XLM.

Coinbase states the first group of invitations to join the program have already been sent to US customers. Users outside of the US have been invited to sign up for a waiting list.

The first group of email invitations to Earn XLM are going out now. If you’re outside the US or just want to try it out as soon as possible, go here and sign up on the waitlist: https://t.co/omqa0Xuqhd

Coinbase announced earlier this month that it was adding support for XLM. The currency was available to all users except those located in the UK or in the state of New York. The exchange’s institutional platform, Coinbase Pro began accepting XLM deposits a week prior to this.
